Kickstart Disability Arts & Culture presents our first event in our 2021 Workshop Series, Grant Writing For Disabled Artists
This grant-writing workshop facilitated by Regan Shrumm is geared towards Artists who identify as living with disabilities based in British Columbia.
This workshop will feature tips on where to apply (City, Municipal, BC Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, and Private Foundations); learning about how grants are assessed; tips on scheduling the grant timeline; and writing advice.
The session will be interactive by offering some activities to help participants think through their project. It will also include some strategies on the accommodations that some of the granting agencies such as the BC Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts have for individuals with disabilities.

About Our Facilitator
Regan Shrumm is a queer and disabled artist, curator, and administrator. They have worked at such organizations as the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Open Space, Integrate Art Society, and the Museum of Northwest Art, where they have had a successful track record of both operational and project-based grants. They also have recently been successful with independent artist grants with the Capital Regional District and BC Arts Council. They have sat on a number of juries, including the City of Victoria and BC Arts Council. reganshrumm.com
